Pharmacy First

Under this scheme, you can consult the pharmacist without an appointment for a wide array of conditions such as those listed below (for a full list of conditions that can be seen please pick up a leaflet from reception) and they can prescribe and dispense any medication that is required for treatment. If you are usually exempt from prescription charges then you will get any medication you require free of charge. You will not be able to get any regular medication you are taking through this scheme.

Minor Conditions Include: Allergies, Athletes Foot, Blocked Nose, Cold Sores, Colds, Constipation, Coughs, Cystitis, Dermatitis, Diarrhoea, Dry Itchy Skin, Ear Wax, Eczema, Hayfever, Head Lice, High Temperature, Indigestion, infant Colic, Minor Burns & Wounds, Nappy Rash, Oral Thrush In Children, Pain, Piles, Scabies, Sore Throat, Teething Pains, Thread Worms, Vaginal Thrush, Verrucas, Vomiting and Warts

    A. This scheme is available in all of the pharmacies (with the exception of Boots)

    A. You can go straight to your participating pharmacy and the pharmacist will see you without an appointment but remember to take evidence of your exemption from prescription charges with you.
